The eyes have it ...

I recently had the opportunity to try a few products from
L'Oreal in exchange for offering my opinion about them. I'm pretty picky when it comes to beauty products (a.k.a. obsessive), so I jumped at the chance as I love to try new things and experiment.

I got to sample their eyeshadow quad in "Smokey Eyes", their eyeliner
Lineur Intense, and their new mascara, Double Extend Beauty Tubes - which is a two-step process for adding "extensions" or, beauty tubes, to your eyelashes.

My eyes are my favourite feature and really the only thing I care about having made up, so for the past week and a half I've been using these products religiously so as to get a full-formed opinion on them. First off, I love the eyeliner. I love wearing a cat eye, but I'm usually not a fan of liquid eyeliners. I find them to be too flaky so I stick with pure kohl. But this eyeliner, L'Oreal's Lineur Intense, is wonderful. Instead of a flimsy little paintbrush applicator, it has a firm, spongy tip so that you can really get a defined, thick line on your eye. It's super dark and pigmented and blends right into the lashline, and it's so easy to apply you can be done in 2 minutes flat.

The eyeshadows in the Smokey Eyes palette are really neat. They come numbered 1-4, with illustrated instructions on the back so
anyone can do their make-up easily. I love the dark charcoal shade the best, it's good for smudging and defining your eyes.

Finally, there's the mascara. I'm a fan of two-step mascaras because when you apply the primers, you can always see it immediately adding length to your eyelashes. The wand on L'Oreal's Beauty Tubes Double Extend mascara allows for easy application. Apply the white primer, wait 30 seconds for it to dry, and then move on to the black top coat. This step goes on thick and adds extreme volume to your eyelashes. I especially like it on my lower lashes because it makes my eyes look BIG and very much the 60's mod style, which is what I'm after. Comb the topcoat through your lashes, and ta-da, you're done. This stuff is heavy duty and lasts all day, and all you need to remove it at the end of the night is a washcloth and some warm water. The mascara comes off in "tubes" (hence the name), that look like little lash extensions, so you can wipe your make-up away easily instead of having a big raccoon-eye mess.

I love these three products and I was very excited to try them (especially since I'm always looking for the *perfect* mascara). I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who wants classic, dramatic eyes.

Oh! I have some mascara that tubes my lashes and I love love love it but I've always had to order it online and it is quite the pretty penny. This is so exciting that I can find something similar in a drugstore! Ah!
